I'm sure you have heard about the helicopter that was shot down in Afghanistan. Here is some info sent in to me by an active duty soldier based out of Ft. Campbell:
"So far what I have is that we lost 30 Americans all part of Special Operations. They break down as 22 Navy SEALs, Navy dog handler and his dog, 3 Air Force CCT (Combat Controllers), 4 members of the aircrew from Task Force (TF) 160th Aviation. TF 160th home base is Ft. Campbell, Ky. All were assigned to C-JSOTF-A (Central-Joint Special Operation Task Force-Afghanistan) which is currently headed by 3rd Special Forces Group. This has been the largest loss of life for Special Operations since the start of the War on Terror in 2001, this covers all theaters Iraq, Afghanistan and around the world."
