Obama's backtracking on "keep your plan" could cause market destabilization, higher premiums and lower competition.
Logistically impossible for insurance companies to offer cancelled plans.
Obamacare plans cost more even with subsidies.

I have no reason to believe this isn't true. Sounds like the logic of an Obama supporter. It is the summer of 1776.......
The only thing hotter than the temperature is the passion for freedom and liberty that is burning in the hearts of the Patriots. Men gather together to pledge their life and their treasure to the cause of independence knowing full well that if they fail, they will probably lose one or the other, or both....... Thomas Paine, whose American Crisis papers helped keep up the morale of the Patriots during the Revolution, had this to say just a few months later in December, but no doubt these sentiments were on the minds of the Americans that summer: "Britain, with an army to enforce her tyranny, has declared that she has a right (not only to tax) but "to bind us in all cases whatsoever" and if being bound in that manner is not slavery, then there is not such a thing as slavery upon earth. Even the expression is impious, for so unlimited a power can belong only to God." Let's pretend that you are an observer at a town hall meeting in Boston, 1776. A speaker rises and laments against the taxes that have been levied against the colonies. He makes an impassioned plea for the audience to take up the revolutionary cause. You look around and on one side of the room, you see Jim DeMint, Rand Paul, Paul Ryan, Bobby Jindal and Scott Walker. On the other side of the room, you see Barney Frank, Charlie Rangel, Chuck Schumer, Harry Reid and Barack Obama. Who would have risen up and stood with the speaker? Who would have seconded the speaker's cries for liberty? Would it be the ones who fight for limited government or the ones who support Obamacare, the largest tax increase in American history? Would it be the ones who fight for fiscal restraint or the ones who support the largest tax increase in American history? Would it be the ones who fight for individual liberty or the ones who support the largest tax increase in American history? Would it be the ones who fight for private property rights or the ones who support the largest tax increase in American history? Who would have stood with the colonists who took up arms largely as a result of taxation? The ones who fight to keep taxes low and government small or the ones who support the largest tax increase in American history? Who indeed. Newt Gingrich has come under fire recently for his statement that Barack Obama is the "Food Stamp President." In response to Gingrich, the left makes three claims:
1. Racist! 2. It's Bush's fault 3. Well yes, but the population has increased too so Obama can't be blamed. It is this last claim that I wanted to take a look at and see if population growth could account for the increase of people on food stamps. The U.S. civilian population estimate on the first day of *FY2010 was 307,518,237. SNAP participation for FY2010 was 40,302,000. The percentage of people on food stamps was 13%. The U.S. civilian population on the last day of FY2011 was 310,800,403. FY2011 saw 44,709,000 people receiving SNAP benefits. This represents 14.3% of the population. So while the population did increase, so did the percentage of people on food stamps! There's more. The population increased by 1% during this time. However, food stamp participation increased by almost 11%! Increases in the population does not account for the increase in food stamp usage. Lastly, the stimulus changed the SNAP program. First, it increased funding by almost $20 billion by increasing monthlybenefit levels. It also changed the amount of time that an able-bodied adults without dependents. The restrictions placed on benefits by the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008 were rescinded. Seems like Obama is much more culpable for the increase in SNAP than I thought. *The reason why I chose FY2010 is because that is the first fiscal year in which Obama was the president throughout. Four trillion in debt, three created jobs, two leftist judges and a moron who is also VP Obama's latest means of job creation is to punt the issue to a newly formed committee made up entirely of big donors to Democrats. Punting on this issue is Obama's only option. He doesn't have any job creation experience of his own to speak of so he must pass it on to someone else.
Obama appointing donors to this committee comes as no surprise. What also comes as no surprise is that Xerox, one of the companies whose CEO is on the committee and donated to Obama, received stimulus money. $213,478 to be exact. This isn't that much money when you are talking about the budget busting stimulus, but it is interesting. By the way, in case you were wondering, 0 jobs were reported as having been created. - RM Editor These days, all we hear from the Obama administration is about how much the rich should pay their fair share. The buzz words “shared responsibility” are nonsense. A closer look into the reality of the matter in IRS data updated 10/2011 on table #2 , one will learn that the top 1% already pay 38.02 % of the total tax bill. The top 5% pay 58.72%, while the top 10% wage earners pay 69.74% of the total tax bill. Put another way, 90% of tax payers only pay 30.26% of the total tax bill generated by the government.
At what point does this money grab and overspend by the federal government get out of hand? Tell us Mr. Obama, what should the formula be? In my opinion, this whole narrative needs to be changed. The question should be, “ what is the government's fair share of our GDP? I believe the answer is that it is already too high. This insatiable appetite for the peoples wealth is out of control and must be stopped. Equally important is to stop the spending spree which is nothing more than legalized theft of future generations of Americans. What made America great is the individual freedom to pursue one's happiness. The liberals and progressives mistakenly think it is government picking the winners and losers. Time for us to get our heads out of the sand, just say NO ,and change the debate to that what is really at stake ….our way of life. -The Ostrich Doctor |
