And now the moment you have all been waiting for! It is time to name the winners of the 2011 LMAO Awards! The competition was fierce but in the end, the most idiotic did prevail.

Sheila Jackson Lee: Oppose raising the debt ceiling? It's because the President is black
- The Hill
Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) on Friday strongly suggested that members of
Congress are making it difficult for President Obama to raise the debt ceiling
because of his race.

"I am particularly sensitive to the fact that only this president — only this one, only this one — has received the kind of attacks and disagreement and inability to work, only this one," said Jackson Lee from the House floor.

"Read between the lines," she continued. "What is different about this president that should put him in a position that he should not receive the same kind of respectful treatment of when it is necessary to raise the debt limit in order to pay our bills, something required by both statute and the 14th
amendment?"

Occupy protestor chokes on silver spoon- Newsbusters
Robert Stephens graduated from Carleton College (average cost: $42,942/year) in 2010
and now studies law at The George Washington University Law School (average
cost: $70,449/year).  His father has a Ph.D. and two master’s degrees; his mother also has a
master’s degree.  Only in America could a kid have been blessed with so much… and only in America could he still claim to be a victim. America’s capitalist society has apparently leveled a grave
injustice against his family and Robert will not stand for it.
....
In his emotional “rage,” Stephens told the sympathetic Socialist/Marxist/Anarchist crowd how an eeeeeevil Wall Street bank had taken his parents’ home away from them.
....
Phone inquiries into the county property records & taxpayer services office reveal that the Stephens family home is not and never has been in foreclosure, that property taxes had been paid in full this year and the remaining balance on their mortgage for the half-million dollar home is
less than one year’s worth of tuition+fees at their son’s law school.

The nail in this empty protest‘s coffin is a delightful phone conversation I just had with Robert’s mother, Marquita, where she admitted Chase Bank indeed was not “taking” their home from them. Instead, due to a recent “reduction in income,” they’ve decided to hold a “short sale.”

Dem Rep. Jan Schakowsky: You don't deserve to keep all of your money- Heritage
In a interview with Chicago’s Don Wade & Roma radio show this morning, Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky claimed that Americans aren’t entitled to all of their own money.

Toward the end of a wide-ranging interview, the hosts played a clip from this
week’s Republican Presidential Debate where California teenager Tyler Hinsley
asked, “Of every dollar that I earn, how much do you think I deserve to keep?”
Co-host Don Wade asked Schakowsky to answer the same question.

After some initial back-and-forth, she replied, “I’ll put it this way, you
don’t deserve to keep all of it.
It’s not a question of deserving, because what
government is, is those things that we decide to do together.”

Nancy Pelosi: Extending unemployment insurance would create 600,000 jobs
- CNS News
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said that extending unemployment
benefits would add “600,000 jobs to our economy.”

She also said that the money from unemployment benefits creates a “safety net” for the U.S. economy because it “injects demand into the economy -- creating jobs.”

Ag Sec. Tom Vilsack: Food stamps put people to work
- Hot Air
Secretary of Agriculture Tom Vilsack told MSNBC’s Morning Joe that the Obama administration has a jobs program already in place — and it’s food stamps.  When asked about new numbers that show one in every seven Americans now receiving food stamps from the federal government, Vilsack said that’s good news.  Food stamps create jobs, Vilsack insisted, and managed to even come up with a new multiplier effect number.

So here’s the question.  If food stamps create jobs, like Vilsack says here, and we’re putting record numbers of Americans on food stamps, then why aren’t we seeing record job creation?  If every dollar spent on food stamps creates $1.84in production, as Vilsack argues, and the number of food stamp recipients keeps rising, then why haven’t the GDP numbers reflected that fabulous growth?

Hillary Clinton: Greece is an economic policy "leader"
- Investors Business Daily
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Sunday praised Greece for its economic policy "leadership." Wait a minute: isn't this the country that lied to its creditors and has just stuck US taxpayers with an IMF bailout?

Joe Biden
Joe Biden has said so any outlandish things I couldn't pick just one.

Biden hearts stimulus- CNS News
Vice President Joe Biden said Congress should  pass the $450-billion American
Jobs Act even if the economy were growing at 8 percent  and unemployment were as
low as 3 percent.

Jobs bill defeat means more rapes and murders- The Weekly Standard
"In 2008, when Flint had 265 sworn officers on their police force, there were 35 murders and 91 rapes in this city," Biden said. "In 2010, when Flint had only 144 police officers, the murder rate climbed to 65 and rapes--just to pick two categories--climbed to 229. In 2011, you now only have 125 shields. God only knows what the numbers will be this year for Flint if we don't rectify
it
."

Wishing rape and robbery on Obama's jobs bill opponents- CNS News
Vice President Joe Biden said that he wished opponents of President Barack Obama’s jobs act knew what it felt like to  be robbed or raped, indicating that if they did, they would not oppose government spending on public jobs such as police officers.
